Isothermal Community College Ranked Among Nation's Best

Four of North Carolina's community colleges made the top 50 in a rankings list published by Washington Monthly.

Halifax Community College was ranked 12th, Isothermal Community College was ranked 17th, Mayland Community College was ranked 32nd, and Robeson Community College was ranked 39th.

The rankings were based on such criteria as active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student-faculty interaction, first-year retention rate, three-year graduation/transfer rate and credentials awarded per 100 FTE students.

The top rated community college was Stain Paul College in Minnesota.

The president of Isothermal is former Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton.
