On The Job Training Program - provides incentives for business to help defray the cost of training eligible new employees. The program also provides training opportunities in the local business community to adults and dislocated workers.
Incumbent Workforce Development Program - provides funding to established North Carolina businesses to provide educational and skills training for current workers. It is designed to benefit business by enhancing the skills of employees, thereby increasing employee productivity and the potential for company growth. Program includes LEAN manufacturing and ISO training. Maximum annual awards of $25,000 with a lifetime cap of $40,000 per company. Click here for state guidelines and application forms. WorkKeys - provides assessment system for area businesses by connecting work skills, training, and testing for education and employers. Value is estimated at $3,000 per job with first job profiled at no cost.

Statewide Customized Training and Development Program - this program was developed in recognition of the fact that one of the most important factors for a business or industry considering locating, expanding, or remaining in North Carolina is the ability of the State to ensure the presence of a well-trained workforce. The program is designed to react quickly to the needs of businesses and to respect the confidential nature of proprietary processes and information within those businesses. Career Readiness Certification Program - The Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) is an assessment-based credential that gives employers and career seekers a uniform measure of key workplace skills. Click here for Isothermal Community College's Career Readiness Certification Brochure (pdf)

Fidelity Bonding (NCESC) - To expand your labor force options, bonding is available for non-bondable workers at no cost to employer or worker.
Work Opportunity Tax Credit (NCESC) - is a federal tax credit program available to employers who hire new employees from eight "targeted" groups, which have historically had difficulty in finding employment. The credit is used to reduce the federal tax liability of private-for-profit employers.
Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit (NCESC) - a two-year, federal income tax credit issued to employers who hire individuals deemed as long-term welfare recipients. Under the provisions of the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997, and Sections 51 and 51A of the IRS Code, employers can only claim the Welfare-to-Work Credit for the Long-Term Family Assistance Recipient if he/she was employed by the employer after December 31, 1997 and is employed for at least 180 days, or completed at least 400 hours of work.
NC Employment Security Commission's Services - including but not limited to job listings, professional screening, testing services, account executives, federal contractor assistance, sole source agreements, employer technical services, employer networking, tax savings, no fault policy and labor marketing information.
