Daily_Courier_07-30-2014_A5
Rutherfordton, NC - The Trelleborg Coated Systems manufacturing facility in Rutherfordton achieved the milestone of more than two million hours without a lost time incident in June.

A lost time incident is marked by a work-related injury or illness that prevents an employee from being able to work on his or her next scheduled day.  Trelleborg's Rutherfordton facility has not had a work related lost time injury or illness since February 2008.

Keith Dye, President of Trelleborg Coated Systems in the US says:  "This accomplishment by the Rutherfordton team exhibits the commitment of employees and the company to excellence in all facets of our business.  Our company is especially excited to achieve this in Rutherfordton, given our vision for growth for the site, with new investments in equipment and the pending move of our US headquarters for Trelleborg Coated Systems to Rutherford County."

The Trelleborg Coated Systems Rutherfordton facility has been in operation since 1919.  Formerly known as Reeves Brothers, the business was acquired by Trelleborg in 2006.

The facility recently received the NC Department of Labor's Gold Award for Safety for the fifth consecutive year.  The NCDOL Gold Award is based on the DART case rate or cases with Days Away from work, Restricted activity or job Transfer (DART) rate at least 50 percent below the industry average.
